Claire From Cumbria
Pop art ironically, is not like "pop culture", it doesn't go in and out of style, but always seems relevant. Claire, in her own words, is "a mum of 4 first and foremost and also a jewellery maker, poet, artist and a general creative soup. I'm a huge fan of the altered art and popart genres and source images to use in designs from charity shop books, junk shop finds and web research..." Her work with images often finds balance between cute and witty.

Time to Have Some Fun with Mike Spicer
Mike keeps his pencils and wit sharpened in the beautiful town of Bracebridge, ON. He is a freelance cartoonist, commercial artist, illustrator...and a pretty funny guy too! You can find his cartoons popping up in various newspapers, as well as in Pelican Publications 2011 edition of "Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year".
If in need of some fun, please check out his Zazzle: mikespicer's Store at Zazzle
And for more of his work, follow him on his blog: Mike Spicer's Blog
Or if you would like to hire Mike for a project: Mike Spicer
In the meantime, let's all enjoy some of his work.
This one always makes me chuckle. I would say it reminds me of my dad, but sadly, it is starting to remind me of me.
Pulp Rascals
I wanted to show this next one because it has such a wonderful blend of styles intertwining perfectly:
And finally, because he is an avid Boston Bruins fan, and I fear getting checked in the corner by a cartoonist, here is one of his hockey based cartoons.

The Always Impressive Peter (sword42 on zazzle or sword29 on twitter)
Peter rests his head in the U.K. and much of his work looks and feels influenced by his surroundings. To quote his bio:
"...I have been painting as an amateur artist on and off for many years.I have over the years developed a very unusual use of colour and content, which I now know from experience appeal to many people, Including individual collectors and dealers. Newcastle upon Tyne England has been a hotbed of heavy Industry since the beginning of the industrial revolution, most of which has now gone forever. A lot of my paintings are recollections of youthful images of the period, late 1940s and 1950s..."
Personally, I liken his style to a home cooked meal prepared by someone else's mother. You know the dish, you've seen it before, but it is still unique in a such a wonderful way that it often feels like you are tasting it for the very first time. I'm always impressed by his work. Though I grew up in North America, many of his paintings still remind me of my youth and I'm sure many people will find his art easily accessible and easy to relate to.
You can find his webpage here:sword42's Store at Zazzle
Meanwhile, please take the time to peruse his wonderful work below:
I know it's a bit early for Christmas, but the card is so warming.
Every time I look at his work, I have a new favourite. Today it just happens to be this train. Perfectly captures the atmosphere of a train rolling into the station. Makes me feel like I'm there.

Flippity Trippity is Going Retro
Ahhh nothing is as inspired as the bold designs of lines and squares of yesteryear. Well actually plenty is more inspired but darn it, it's just fun to put lines and shapes with pretty colors. Here are a few things I've been working on. Some of it 80's inspired, some of it 60's inspired. These are just a few items I put the design on, feel free to check out my zazzle store if you would like to see more. Click on the pics or follow this link: See my store at Zazzle Enjoy! :)
